EMU Australia has teamed up with WaterAid to support access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world's poorest and most marginalised communitues.

Dircia and Crizonia

Dircia and Crizona are just like other kids. When access to a local supply of clean, safe water was supplied to their village they were overjoyed. “We like the water ... it is so close to us and we do not have to spend time collecting water”. This means they can spend more time gaining an education, and less time on an unsafe path collecting water. Let kids be kids. Shop EMU Australia and give the gift of clean water.

Etelvina

This is the story of Etelvina. Before clean water was brought to their village, the “water tasted muddy” and they “got stomach aches from it”. Now her village has water, she can grow her own vegetables. Her family also “has better nutrition” because of her garden. “The most important thing for community is water”. Through our partnership, 19 of the world's poorest communities will gain access to a clean water supply for the first time.

Carminda & Labania.

This is the story of Carminda and her granddaughter Labania. Throughout her life, Carminda has made the dangerous trek to collect water for her family. It would be a steep walk at least an hour each way. Now, she can see the impact that easy access to safe water makes - in health, safety and hygiene. You can help to make sure that “sickness doesn't come everyday” in villages like Carminda's. Your purchase of EMU Australia product will help change the lives people in communities across Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste.

EMU Australia and WaterAid.

EMU Australia's initial contribution will help kick start safe water, sanitation and hygiene projects in 19 communities across Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste.

In Papua New Guinea, EMU Australia's partnership with WaterAid will impact 16 communities and villages, providing 12 x 1,000 gallon rainwater tanks to the remote villages (one per village) in the West Sepik Province.

The partnership in Timor-Leste will impact 3 communities/villages with sustainable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.

The partnership in Timor-Leste will impact 3 communities/villages with sustainable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.

Due to environmental, cultural and geologic factors no project is the same and a "one size fits all solution" can not be implemented. EMU Australia supports WaterAid in working towards a long term and sustainable solution together with each community to meet their needs.

The problem at large.

Can you imagine life without safe, clean water?
For 650 million people it's a daily reality.

Every day millions of people are forced to drink dirty water that causes disease and claims lives.
